Autumn has a passion for diving around the world. Through her travels she began meeting some seriously stellar women who all expressed the same concerns with Solo dive travel. It can be tricky finding a safe and respectful environment.
So, with her entrepreneurial spirit, Autumn started Scuba Girls!
When we launched Scuba Girls in 2013 nothing could prepare us for the wild success that came our way. Women around the world jumped in on our growing community. By the fall of 2016 we had 25,000 followers and still growing!
Scuba Girls sponsors diving trips around the world, encouraging women of all ages and experience levels to join us. These trips often include the opportunity to further your diving education, too.
Many Scuba Girls and their partners are active instructors. Some are available for instruction individually or through their dive centers.
Most of the instruction we conduct is during our dive trips, but we do some concierge instruction locally. Contact us for a Scuba Girl Instructor near you or a Scuba Girl approved dive center.
Scuba Girls is for women who want to go diving. You will find kinship in this community of women who love diving. A community that is open, welcoming and encouraging for divers of all levels.
Autumn is a notable voice in dive industry and ocean conservation circles alike—having launched Scuba Girls in 2013, and Stream2Sea (the only skin and sun care line passing a full range of aquatic safety testing) in 2015 because of the belief that we need to raise the bar in the decisions we make when it comes to our ocean's health. She especially loves introducing beginners to the world of diving! You can contact Autumn at:
John met Autumn in Key Largo while guiding for ScubaDo on Molasses Reef. John has been diving since he was 14. First certified in 1966 he has been a commercial and military diver. He enjoys underwater photography while wreck and reef diving. As a recreational dive instructor he enjoys sharing his knowledge and experience with others. You can see his pictures or contact him at:
Rebekah is Scuba Girls nurse practitioner. Whether home or abroad she always has her bag of tricks ready for any issue that may arise. Her love of the ocean began at an early age growing deeper over the last 14 years since she became certified. Her passion has blossomed into a gift for underwater photography! Rebekah also serves us all proudly as a nurse in the US Air Force Reserves.
Divemaster. Writer. Purveyor of dreams. Micki has been diving since 1986 and finally decided to go pro a couple years ago. Since then, the skills she’s learned have shown up in her novels and helped new divers attain their own dreams. She often tags along with Dave when the siren song of the ocean lures her away from her computer.
Dave combines his passion for teaching with his love of the water. A PADI Master Instructor and an SDI Scuba Instructor, Dave is qualified to teach everything from beginning scuba through Assistant Instructor, as well as thirty PADI Specialties and Emergency Response courses. The best thing about teaching? Helping someone experience the beauty of a reef or the excitement of a wreck for the first time.
Having loved SCUBA diving since the age of 15, Deidre is a PADI MSDT Instructor with 14 specialties all over the world before she became a physician. Though her time is now limited due to the demands of residency, she still spends every free moment she can diving, maintains her PADI active Instructor status and is proud to be the Scuba Girls' Doctor.
Allison first discovered diving in the Red Sea of Egypt in 1999, and the rest is history! She is an Instructor with MSDT certification—and is especially fond of new students: her gentle approach and humor make for a great, safe time.
Lizzie is Scuba Girls Ocean Scientist and Safety Officer. She is currently working as assistant Safety Officer on the crew of the Aquarius Reef Base underwater habitat operated by Florida International University! Ani is a native of Miami (raised in Hialeah) and has had a love affair with the ocean since her parents took her for her first dip at the beach in Key Biscayne at the age of 1. At the 17, Ani earned her NAUI Open Water cert & never looked back. In 1996 she attained her DM rating & then PADI Inst #99376. In 2009, Ani earned the PADI MSDT rating with multiple specialties. Also to her credit she is a certified Commercial Scuba Diver and UW Bridge Inspector for the FDOT. During the last 18 years, her love of diving has led her to be involved with Ocean Safari Diving Adventures in Miami as an instructor & its dive travel coordinator. Dive travel is another passion that helps Ani share her love of the ocean with so many. Ani holds a 100 ton USCG Capt’s license, which she puts to great use as Deco Diver’s Capt/Manager out of Miami Beach.
Sara has a natural talent for finding the treasures of the ocean—and she loves introducing divers to the art of capturing it all with a camera! She is also passionate about helping new divers move on to their next level of certification, with Advanced Open Water being her favorite course to teach. She is currently a technician at Mariniers Hospital Hyperbaric Chamber and working on her nursing degree!
This could be you!
